The Crusader #353 - November 2020

The November intention is for the Society of St. Pius X.

Dear Crusader and Friends,

We read in the Bible that the enemies of the people of Israel, the Amalekites, came to attack the Israelites a short while after they had passed through the Red Sea. Moses sent Joshua and his army to fight the battle while he went with Aaron and Hur to the top of the hill to pray. While Moses prayed with his hands raised up to heaven, the Israelites had the advantage, but when he let them down a little, the advantage went to the Amalekites. But after a while Moses’ hands grew heavy: so Aaron and Hur took a stone and let him sit on it, while they held his hands up until sunset, and that’s how the people Israel won the battle.

You too dear Crusaders you could be like Moses and pray always for those around you or like Jesus Christ who, from the crib to the Cross, wanted only one thing: to please His Father in all things. To be able to do this, you have your morning offering, and every morning you can start your day with great confidence in God’s protection. We must remember that after our morning offering, all that we will do that day is for Jesus.

The morning offering changes everything. Our little actions take on a different value: they are no longer useless. The smallest of them becomes an act of adoration and of thanks to Him to Whom we owe everything.

Enough of half measures and half-hearted mediocrity! God is calling us to perfection. We should go ahead with great courage because it is Jesus who told us: “Be ye perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect”.

Yours in Jesus & Mary,

Fr. Benjamin Campbell
